Est. 2023 Ā· Head-to-Head Points
A simulation, labelled as one: a projectile model of a basketball shot and a drive, drawn live on the canvas. Gravity is 9.81 m/s², the rim sits at 3.05 m (10 ft) and 17.3 m is not involved ā the shooter stands where the slider puts him. Adjust the biomechanical dials ā release angle, release velocity, jump height (which sets release height) and player speed on the drive ā and watch the outcome change. It models physics, not any real player's shot; no real player's mechanics are claimed or copied.
Release angle Ā· Release velocity Ā· Jump height Ā· Shot distance Ā· Drive speed
Drive readout: at the speed dialled in, the drive from the top of the arc (about 7.5 m of court) to the rim takes the time shown under the canvas ā hang time on the shot comes from the jump dial plus the ball's own flight. Change a dial mid-flight and release again: the arena re-simulates instantly.
